October 2014
Breakfast, lunch and weekend breakfast service, plus hospitality

At this Industry site overall sales have increased by £23,625.50 due to the offer and quality of the food. We have increased the footfall through the restaurant by 20% and have increased hospitality by £15K. Hospitality was out sourced with the previous contract, but all hospitality requests are now met in house.

There are several vegans on site who were previously not being catered for. We conducted meetings with them, understood their frustrations, and now offer them a much more varied choice.

We have introduced regular theatre cookery at this site, and it has proved very popular. The ‘Inspired Salad Bar’ is another success, served as a breakfast item, to cater for the tastes of a number of Eastern Europeans on site.

We have developed a strong relationship with this client over the past 18 months, meeting on a regular basis to discuss the account. We are improving communication and collaboration by introducing a monthly workshop where the staff can give feedback and put forward suggestions.

Key Facts:

  • Overall sales increased by over £23k since contract gain
  • Footfall in the restaurant increased by 20%
  • Hospitality requests now all met in house, with an increase of almost £15k
  • Have developed strong relationships with the Visions & Values team

What the client had to say...

I would like to thank you and Amanda (with her team) for their hard work during the launch of our Vision/Values… it went so well and they did such a GREAT job!

April 2018
Breakfast club, mid-morning break, hot lunch, street food bar, grab & go, salad bar, plus working lunch hospitality.

It is important to our client that their students feel nurtured and cared for, which is why they chose us as their partner. The Academy has a commitment to providing a healthy learning environment and, like us, they share the belief that the food we offer plays an important role in this. Our approach is to ensure our food supports our client’s objectives and values which is why we source all our ingredients within a 25 mile radius. It is all made from scratch and has a commitment to health and wellbeing.

Breakfast and mid-morning snacks have a profound impact on a child’s mood and performance so we ensure we provide a well-balanced offer, with plenty of choice to suit even the fussiest eaters! We see our role within the Academy to use food not just as a source of nutrition but a learning experience for new cuisines which is why we have introduced a ‘street food corner’ alongside more traditional offers at lunchtime.

We have over 800 pupils onsite and feedback on our food has been incredible with students saying our food is ‘fresh and exciting’ and ‘exactly what we have been waiting for!’

What the client had to say...

We chose T(n)S because of their ethos of preparing healthy food from scratch. We were impressed that all of their senior team are trained chefs so the focus really is on the quality and flavour of the food.

Key improvements:

  • Newly rebranded ‘Refresh & Refuel’ dining room, including new signage
  • All sauces made from scratch using slowly cooked veg to provide natural sweetness
  • All fruit, vegetables, butchery and bakery items sourced within a 25 mile radius of site
  • New hospitality offering for newly built conferencing suites, catering for internal and external clients, meetings and functions
  • ‘Student Rewards’ Scheme launched, designed to allow teaching staff to offer their students a “treat” for great achievement – retro sweets, hot dogs, pizza etc

Care, in Llandudno

September 2011
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, functions, and hospitality for members, plus staff dining

We have worked closely with this charity since 2011. For us we understand that it’s not just about being a catering partner, but really working together as one team to give the veterans the ability to move back in to the community.

Our holistic approach to working with the team demonstrates our commitment to not just being a service provider but recognising the role we play in making people’s lives better. We regularly get involved taking the members horse riding, and our Chefs even spent a week catering for veterans at base camp on Snowdon, for a canoeing trip on the River Wye, and for a charity cycle ride from Brighton to Llandudno!

Quote from client:

T(n)S provide a fantastic service to our charity, and what’s remarkable is that this has been achieved by a brand new team, in new and untested facilities, in such a short period of time. We now look forward to a long and successful working relationship. (Operations Director)

We provide a range of food services across the portfolio of this charity. The food offer ranges from traditional to street food, formal dress dinners, and BBQ’s. However, it’s our ability to get really involved with rehabilitation that has afforded us our long-standing relationship with the client. Our ‘Can’t Cook, Won’t Cook’ scheme teaches members cooking skills (including bread making classes) and encourages independence. Our take on the ‘I’m a Celebrity Bushtucker Trial’ is also a great success where the members were given edible bugs, worms and beetles to hold, feel and eat! We understand that it’s not just a place to work, but it is a home away from home for many of the Veterans, and it should feel as such. One of our Chefs even entertains with his guitar after lunch service.

Our commitment to the charity over the years has laid the foundations for a strong partnership supported by delivering on our promises. In 2014 we experienced a retender process and as a consequence of our hard work and commitment not only saw a contract extension but gained 3 other contracts within the group. A sense of familiarity is important for the veterans, so it’s a great credit that 82% of the original start up team from the summer of 2011 remain to be friendly faces at the site.

June 2014
Breakfast, lunch, vending, hospitality

Our client wanted a partnership with their chosen caterer, one that offered both flexibility and an understanding of their demographic. It was our commitment to this that impressed them during the tender stage, and subsequently the contract was retained in June of 2018.

We knew it was important to get the offer right from day one, so during the six-week mobilisation we held a series of tasting days to ensure we developed an offer that was both relevant and inclusive with the 200 people on site. This enabled us to launch a new artisan salad bar and a daily changing street food offer. Alongside our staff offer we also provide hospitality to a busy set of meeting rooms which host anything from breakfast meetings to working lunches.

Since contract award we have increased sales by 28.3 % as a direct result of the new concepts and the quality of food we now provide.

Key Facts:

  • 200 people on site
  • Revamp of signage and marketing
  • New Ottolenghi themed Salad Bar introduced
  • Homebaked breads and cakes served daily
  • Menu is now promoted online to increase restaurant footfall

What the client had to say...

We have used T(n)S catering for a number of years and have been impressed by their professionalism, flexibility and high standard or catering. The team are always friendly, approachable and willing to work closely with us in delivering a service that meets the needs of our business. I would have no hesitation is recommending T(n)S to other companies

B&I, in Cambridge

Brand new site opened in February 2018
Breakfast, lunch, afternoon service. Plus Barista coffee, Hospitality and functions.

We are proud to partner with Nuffield Health Gym at this brand new B&I site. We were able to use our experience in food that is focused on nutrition and wellbeing in a public facing restaurant and bar, called ‘The Apiary’. With a hugely diverse demographic it was really important to our client that we not only provided fantastic food but fostered a feeling of community as part of the health club experience. ‘The Apiary Juice Press’ offers a variety of freshly squeezed juices, smoothies and milkshakes, with energy and health boosting benefits from superfoods. Just what is needed post workout!

Since the contract was awarded in February 2018 our new retail offer has seen sales increase by over 80%. This is a direct result of our ability to drive spend and penetration by carefully executed food backed up by strategic marketing campaigns.

Hospitality is also a really important part of our role at this site and it’s been so popular that we now deliver to over 20 businesses daily. Up to 3,000 customers around the Business Park can choose from our hospitality menu at The Apiary, delivered to their door using our very own Apiary delivery van. With daily orders, the catering team work hard to impress our clients with the delicious food on offer. Orders range from standard working lunches to executive finger food, and even fresh stone-baked pizzas delivered from our pizza oven.

Quote from client:

The T(n)S management team have been very attentive to our clients needs. They have worked extremely hard to set up our new restaurant and deliver the expectations set out. They continue to strive to make improvements to increase the revenue and offer the best possible service to our tenants on the Park.
